Weld (Reseda Luteola) Extract
Weld produces an excellent light and washfast yellow on fabrics and is a strong clear yellow to combine with indigo for emerald and leaf greens. Natural reseda dye extract is an economic way to dye all your fabrics, a little goes a long way. Weld is also known as Dyers Weld, Dyers Rocket, and Dyers Mignonette.

Use at 3-5% Weight of fiber.
5 grams of weld extract will dye 100 gram of fabric.
Active dye component; luteolin.Mordant protein fiber with alum 15% WOF.
For cellulose fiber pre mordant with tannin and aluminium acetate.
Copper mordant at 5% will give deep mustard yellow.
Post-mordant with 1% ferrous sulfate for khaki greens.
Weld loves slightly hard water.
Adding finely ground chalk (about two teaspoons for a gallon) brightens the weld colour, especially if your tapwater is soft.
A second round in the dye bath will give soft yellow hues.

Storage
Keep in a tightly closed container, stored in a cool, dry, ventilated area. Protect against physical damage. Maintain a constant temperature not to exceed 24° C. (75° F.). Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty since they retain product residues (dust, solids); observe all warnings and precautions listed for the product.
Heath and Safety
Do not ingest. Do not breathe dust. Wear protective gloves, safety goggles and a dust mask when handling fine dye powders and mordants.

Environmental Hazards
Natural dye powders are no known environmental concern. Mordants and mordanted dye baths should be disposed in a sensible way according to your local waste disposal laws.
