We love natural dye extracts because they are easy to dissolve, and so much more economic.
Pommegranate rind tannin extract, dyes golden shades on all fabrics, and deep moss green to black with ferrous sulfate.
Pomegranate natural dye extract is a substantial dye, meaning it does not need a mordant to attach itself to the fabrics and be light- and wash fast. However, the use of mordants can give an interesting play of hues. Used traditionally with curcuma for golden yellows in Persian carpets, known in India as Annar.
Use around 2% WOF for medium depth of shade.
Active dye component; granatonine (a flavonoid), tannins
Low temperatures will keep the colour yellow, the longer the textile is in the dye bath, the browner your colour will be.
Post mordant with ferrous sulfate for deep moss greens and blacks.
100 grams in a resealable pouch, that will dye you a LOT of textile.
