Original henna powder made from finely ground leaves. Originates from the Middle East. Use for dyeing yellows, oranges and browns or use as the component to reduce an indigo vat. The longer the dye material cooks, the more brown the results will be.

Henna is Ph sensitive; acidity in the dye bath will shift the color to orange.
Active dye components; Lawsone, Luteolin, Tannin.
 
Textiles can be mordanted previously for better results and deeper colour, but henna is substantive and will dye without the use of mordants as well.
