Handwoven peace silk, from cruelty-free raised and processed Bombyx Mori silk moths. Lightly slubbed structure. Also called silk noil. Warming fabric, very nice drape.

Super generous size of 70-200cm Woven on a two shaft loom, which makes it looser than a four shaft loom weave. Finished with twisted fringes.

These scarves often are finished using a silk starch so they can be pressed neatly. I recommend soaking the scarf in a bucket of water with four spoons of bran overnight, which will desolve the starch. No need to scour.

Oatmeal coloured, unbleached silk, handwoven by skilled craftsmen and women in a rehabilitation centre for physically challenged people in India. The centre provides individuals with an education, learning a craft, and work to support their families.
