Fine powder of ground hulls of common walnut. You can use this powder on all textiles without a mordant. You can create nutty brownsnwhen used without a mordant, golden hues on alum mordanted fibers and deep browns to almost black on fabrics mordanted with ferrous sulfate.
For use measure between 20 - 50%WOF of dye stuff and heat slowly in a dye pot. Add your (mordanted) fibres and keep heated below a boil for at least 1.5 hoour. Let your fibres cool down in the dye pot.
