One of the few ways to create straight up greens on fabric is by using chlorophylin. These chlorophylins are produced from mulberry leaves using copper sulfate. This improves lightfastness amazingly. Chlorophyllin made from mulberry leaves is a dark green powder with a strong smell of green tea
Use a good pre mordant of alum or copper sulfate to make results longer lasting.
Chlorophyllin is strong. Suggested percentages for use are 1-5% WOF. A 25 gram package of chlorophyllin will dye approximately 1250 grams of fabric.
Our CHLOROPHYLIN EXTRACT is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) for use on fibers that will be labeled ORGANIC.
