Handwoven wild non violent silk scarf, made by my trusted team of artisans with over 50% female workers who mainly do the spinning and setting up the warps.
Tech specs;
Millspun Matka silk warp.
Handspun Bulkul Tassar weft.
70-200 cm, a wonderful large size.
Bulkul silk yarn is raw silk spun out of tasar (tussar) cocoon peduncles, dark in color and compact. Tassar silk comes from the cocoons of the Antheraea Paphia moth, which does not feed on mulberry leaves but eats oak leaves in India, this gives the bulkul silk its' rich, variegated brown shade.
The yarn is spun like wool, not reeled and it has a natural flow of colour and lots of texture. The colours flow from gold to nutty browns to cream. Any natural shade will make this look amazing such as deep indigo blue or lac red, or just keep them like they are.
These scarves do not need scouring, we just soak them overnight in bran water to remove starch and impurities.
