Matka es una seda mate con mucha textura y muy versátil. Muchas de mis muestras que ves en el sitio web están hechas con esta tela.
La Matka se teje a partir de los residuos de los capullos de gusano de seda. Estas polillas de la seda se alimentan con hojas de morera en sericultura de pequeñas cabañas.
Úselo para ropa, silenciadores, almohadas y más. La seda Matka tiene mucha sericina, por lo que absorberá el tinte de maravilla. Las piezas teñidas con Matka siempre se sienten muy saturadas de color. No es necesario fregar, pero le aconsejo que se remoje durante la noche en un balde con salvado para eliminar el almidón de arroz que usan para planchar la tela.

I sewed this shirt myself. As always (for men's shirts) I used my go to pattern : Simplicity 8753, with some changes, like the mandarin collar. I have written another review here for the same shirt, but with Kala cotton fabric. This one feels also great. I have noticed that the handwoven fabric feels different than commercial fabrics (I sewed lots of shirts...), it feels like wearing a t-shirt (knit). I think that it's because the tension of the warp threads is different-more relaxed.
