Ahimsa, cruelty-free peace silk. Handspun and  handwoven Tussar warp and weft.
Bulkul silk is spun from the peduncles of the Tussar silk moth cocoon that feeds on oak leaves, which is what gives this silk its' dark toffee hue.
 
These scarves have a thick, rich texture with variegated tones of brown. Not one scarf is the same. I don't think they need any dye or printing they are beautiful just the way they are. Dyed with indigo these cruelty-free scarves become a deep teal-green color, dyed with madder a textured red. 
Our handspun and handwoven peace silk is produced by artisans in a workshop where all the production steps are permorned inhouse: from cleaning, to spinning, to weaving the silk.
 
These scarves do not need scouring, we soak them overnight in bran water to remove starch and impurities.
